2. Hosting

This website is hosted by Host Europe GmbH (Germany). When you access the site, technically necessary data (IP address, time of access, page requested) is processed in server log files. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the secure and stable operation of the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

3. Contacting us

If you write to us by email, we process the information you provide solely in order to deal with your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). For the enquiry form on this website, see section 5. Form data is not stored on this website; the information is forwarded to us by email only.

4. Map material (OpenFreeMap)

To display the location map, map tiles are loaded from OpenFreeMap (openfreemap.org). Your IP address is transmitted to the map server in the process. According to its own statement, OpenFreeMap sets no cookies and creates no usage profiles. Legal basis: legitimate interest in showing how to find us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The mapping software itself and the walking routes shown are held on our own server; no third party is contacted for these.

5. Form submission & spam protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)

Enquiries sent via the contact form are processed by a script on our web server and forwarded to us by email; the information you enter is transmitted (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR — steps prior to entering into a contract). To protect against automated enquiries we use Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-friendly captcha service provided by Cloudflare, Inc. Technical characteristics (including IP address and browser information) are processed for bot detection; no advertising cookies are set and no usage profiles are created for advertising purposes. Legal basis: legitimate interest in preventing misuse and spam (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). An invisible check field (honeypot) is also used.

6. Web analytics (Fathom Analytics)

We use Fathom Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service that works without cookies and does not build personal profiles; IP addresses are not stored permanently. Legal basis: legitimate interest in measuring reach (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

7. Transfers to third countries

Cloudflare, Inc. (Turnstile) is based in the United States. Transfers take place on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. Fathom Analytics is operated by Conva Ventures Inc., based in Canada; the European Commission has issued an adequacy decision for Canada.

8. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR), as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example the LDI NRW (the data protection authority for North Rhine-Westphalia).
